Dear Sri.G.P.Rao,

This video was shot at around 10 ~ 10.30AM so I would consider this to be a moderate sunlight performance, not very low like 8AM'ish or very good like 1PM'ish.

"Solar water pumping systems cannot be provided battery back up, its just not commercial feasible" Even 280 no's of 2V 50ah will hardly help anyone run a 5hp pump for 5 hrs & just only these batteries would cost apprx Rs.4 lakh odd.

And cost for a similar 10Kw Solar setup alone suitable to run a 10hp pump will be Rs.5,50,000 approx. Pumps plus corresponding pipes fittings & cables will differ case to case and cost cannot be estimated without specific details.

If you have any specific requirement in mind do share it by email to newbielink:mailto:saravana.kumar@greencurrent.in [nonactive] and I'll be more than glad to offer a competitive price for a esteemed FN expert like you.

Regards,

Saravana Kumar

Cool alternative to BESCOM in karnataka. Power is given max for 3 hrs per day these days that too not regularly. Serious farmers should go for solar! Thanks to saravanan for uploading the video!

Thank you Vinayjan,

Yes its a worthy alternative in places where there's erratic grid supply & where grid transmission is not available/feasible.

But for now this will only get more attractive once the cost is made affordable.

Saravana Kumar

hi,

saw yr note on solar pumps and the guide to buying solar pumping systems.  thank you.  still solar power is mumbo jumbo to mahy of us, this kind of clarity will make one smarter.

i sell liquid new generation fertilizers to farmers in western UP and am privy to many of the farmers' problems.  one of them being scarce electricty for their 20hp centrifugal pumps.  in fact many of my regular clients wanted to know if there is any affordable solar gadgets available, so that they can pump water when needed, not when the gods are willing.  mst of the farms have 20hp + pumps electrically operated.

costwise, how much ur 10hp systems cost? like i said, these are to be affordable to the farmer to switch from one to another without financial strain.

can u pls send me details?

regards
krishna
